Please pray that our parish may be blessed by the benefits our new parish website offers.

  1. This week we remember Patrick Marley and his family in our prayers. Patrick was an active member of the community and our Parish. He was much loved by all, and was a good steward and benefactor to the needs of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini. May he rest in Eternal Peace. May the Lord bless and protect his family left behind. 2. Today, Friday, January 22, 2010, we stand up and pray with the thousands of good Christians in the March for Life, who are now, at this very moment standing up for life, against abortions. The group is standing in the rain, on the beltway, in front of the Capital of the USA. The March is shown live on-line, and also is on EWTN all day today. Please watch & listen to the speeches, and pray for the end of abortions in this great country of ours. Last year, one half-million children died at the hands of the murderous abortionists. We need to stand up for our Faith and for Life. JimB 22Jan10

  3. The first Sunday of Lent tells of Jesus coming out of the desert, famished after a fast of 40 days. The devil tempted Him, but Jesus resisted. During Lent, we too will be tempted to fall. A Christian Life is not easy, nor is Lent. Virtue comes to us when resist temptation, when we suffer with the right attitude and make personal sacrifices. A man who gives up drink when he's not a drinker does nothing to garner virtue. But the parent who makes sacrifices for her child (ie.suffers loss of income so she can be at home for him), is doing God's will and is virtuous. Jesus tells us to make sacrifices during this time, but to do so quietly, without fanfare... unlike the Pharisees. So when we suffer by going out of our way for someone else, when we make personal sacrifices during Lent, let's do so with a cheerful, generous heart. In that way, we share in Jesus' suffering, and God His Father will love & bless us, His Children. JimB 21Feb10
